Since 1999, I have specialised in photographing the work of artists and craftspeople. I love the challenge of making their work look even more impressive.
The added bonus for me is that I am entrusted with an artist’s or craftperson’s best work. I have photographed arts and crafts in many forms: from glass art to drawings; from paintings to ceramics; from colossal constructions to exquisite jewellery; from wearable art to bespoke furniture.
I believe every work of art is unique and I see my role as finding a visual way of conveying the complexity and precision of beautiful art and craft. I am very particular about capturing detail and texture.
My photographs are used for gallery websites, promotional brochures, artist portfolios, juried competitions, archival records and magazine illustrations. My images have been published in Craft Arts International, Textile Fibre Forum, Australian Wood Review and in Lark Books 500 Wood Bowls.
I work in a studio space in Balmain, in Sydney’s Inner West, but I am also happy to photograph on location. I have set up my equipment in artists’ homes, in public halls, warehouses, galleries and even an empty fire station!
My rate is $120 AUS per hour in the studio, or on location. Travel time can be a cost. I charge $80 per hour for all post-production work. This includes downloading the camera images to my computer, colour management, digital adjustments, resizing and outputting images to the artist’s or gallery’s requirements.
Please contact me on 0417 658 859 or email me at artsimages@exemail.com.au if you would like to discuss your project, or need a quote. I look forward to working with you.
